Qigong is an ancient healing system based on Traditional Chinese Medicine which science is now discovering how it has helped people physically, mentally and emotionally.  Meditation, acupressure, etc. is also explored. Open to all levels and easy to learn.  Benefits include improved flexibility and strength; improved balance, digestion and circulation; improved mental focus and emotional well-being

Gentle Yoga:  offers all the benefits of yoga, but slower, with more focus on stretching and breathing.  In Gentle Yoga you will develop body awareness, learn basic postures and proper alignment.  You will learn a calming and relaxing practice focused on your breath.  Recommended for those who are less flexible or who just like to take it more slowly.  Instructor:  Samantha FournierFundamentals of Yoga:  Relieve stress and improve overall health and balance by learning the fundamentals of Yoga.  Enjoy learning the basics of proper alignment and how to link your movements with your breath.  Build a foundation for a personal yoga practice in this class.  Participants should be in overall good health since practice can be vigorous. Instructor:  Virginia HiltonYoga:  Slow Flow Yoga is a Vinyasa Yoga-style class, which links long movements with breath in a way that both relaxes and energizes.  Students will work on balance, joint flexibility and building core strength.  Although it will improve physical and mental health, this class is not considered therapeutic and is most suitable for those with prior yoga training. Instructor:  Virginia HiltonFREE Yoga in the Park:  This is a Hatha style yoga class for adults in good health who want the joy of movement outside with a group.  Class will focus on fun, flow style movements, but will also provide some foundational yoga instruction.  A moderate yoga challenge that benefits the joints, posture, and overall physical and mental health.  Bring water, a yoga mat and wear loose comfortable clothes.  You will be required to sign in each class.  Class will be cancelled due to inclement weather.  Instructors:  Virginia Hilton and othersYin Yoga with Sound Healing:  In Yin Yoga postures are seated or supine and are held for longer periods of time (3-5 minutes).  Suitable for almost all levels of students, Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis and lower spine.  The class is accompanied by the live sounds of a Chau gong, bar chimes and a pure quartz crystal bowl.  The vibrations produced by the sounds of these instruments have been known to help clear blockages in your chakras, which assists with proper flow of energy.  Removing blockages, retuning chakras and bringing the brain to a more meditative state are some of the benefits of hearing these instruments in a live setting.  It is advisable to dress comfortably and warmly in layers, and to not eat/eat only minimally for 2 hours before class.  Instructors:  Maria Swan and Doug Yeager.  CLASS CANCELLED-WILL TRY AGAIN IN THE FALLFor all classes:  Wear loose, comfortable clothing.  Bring a mat and water bottle.  Class is done barefoot.  For residents only.
