A summer recreational program for special needs children ages 3-21 with physical, intellectual, developmental, and/or other health impairments. Camp Sunrise is sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Departments in the towns of Cromwell, Glastonbury, Newington, Rocky Hill and Wethersfield.
The Glastonbury Parks and Recreation Department directly organizes and oversees the camp. Camp runs for seven weeks from June 22-August 7 (depending on school snow days). Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. The program will meet at the Naubuc School Cafeteria, 84 Griswold Street in Glastonbury. You may sign your child up for one to seven weeks. There will be no camp on Friday, July 3.
Each group participates in a variety of activity periods each day which include games, sports, art and crafts, and nature walks. A typical camp day consists of several planned activity periods throughout the day including sports, nature, arts and crafts and special events.
Camper fees: $135/week for special needs child; $165 for typical siblings
