We are excited to announce that, as of right now, we are planning to run the Youth Recreational Basketball League for the 2021-2022 season.
Registration: Registration is open from September 13th through October 29th. Any child registered after October 29th will be placed on a waitlist and will only be assigned to a team if openings become available. Team placement is not guaranteed for any players that are registered after October 29th.
Practice: Every team practices 1 hour per week. Day and time depends on team placement. Practice time slots are Monday-Friday between 5:00 and 9:00pm and will start the week of November 29th.
Team Placement: Teams will be created with the intentions of making them as balanced as possible. We cannot honor requests for specific coaches or team mates. There are no guarantees for teams, coaches, team mates, or practice nights. Team placement is final. Coaches will notify players/parents of team placement between November 17th and November 19th.
Jamboree: The Jamboree will be held on Saturday, December 4th for grades 3-8. Players and coaches will receive their t-shirts and a quick pick-up game will be played!
Games: Games will be held Saturday, December 11th-February 26th. There will be no games on 12/25, 1/1, and 2/19. Each team will play 9 games. The schedule will be available on our website in December.
Coaches: There is always a need for coaches. Coaching is more than knowing the game. The ability to teach age-appropriate athletic skills is equally as important as being aware of the needs of the children participating in the sport. We accept all coaches that are willing to dedicate just a couple of hours a week to help give our young athletes a fun, safe, and memorable experience. No experience is needed! We provide you with the tools to learn what kinds of drills to run at practices and how to teach the sport.
All new and returning coaches should follow the steps found in the Coach's Corner, which can be found by clicking the link below. There will be one mandatory coach's meeting on Monday, November 15th at 6:00pm. Coaches will notify parents/players of team placement between November 17th and 19th.
To show our appreciation for your willingness to coach, all volunteer coaches will be issued a $50.00 credit on their account at the end of season provided they have completed the season and are in good standing with the Department.
