Participants learn the traditional art of Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Karate. You will learn the basics of Karate, blocking and striking, as it is still taught in Okinawa today. Students will also learn discipline, self-confidence and how to defend themselves. Class is done barefoot.
Beginner Karate is for students who are age 6-10 with no previous training
Advanced Karate is for students age 10 and up with some training
Parents and their children can be in Advanced Karate if at the same level.
New students: Wear loose comfortable clothing. If you decide to pursue the sport after your first full session, you will need to purchase a gi (uniform). Peter will provide more information in class. No new students will be accepted after first 2 weeks of program.
Due to the popularity of the program, Rocky Hill residents will be given preference. Non residents can sign up for the June 5 session beginning May 22 if space is available.
